This is UNIT 9 in our LEVEL 1 online ESL curriculum, designed for use with young, beginner-level students who have basic but limited knowledge of English. The unit introduces the following:
- Vocabulary: School Supplies (notebook, textbook, pen, pencil, eraser, pencil sharpener, marker, colored pencil, ruler, scissors, paper clips, glue sticks)
- Sentence Patterns: Do you like these (books) or those (books)?
- Phonics: Short a/e/i/o/u
- Colors Review
- Numbers: 19, 20 (nineteen, twenty)
- Shapes: Patterns (spiral, stripes, spots)
There are ten 25-minute lessons in this unit that introduce the target vocabulary and reinforce it through short stories and fun interactive activities. There is also a short homework assignment at the end of each lesson to reinforce the concepts taught.
