
This is UNIT 8 in our LEVEL 1 online ESL curriculum, designed for use with young, beginner-level students who have basic but limited knowledge of English. The unit introduces the following:
- Vocabulary: People & Jobs (teacher, cook, artist, bus driver, doctor, veterinarian, police officer, firefighter)
- Sentence Patterns: Who is he/she? / She is a doctor. / Where does he/she work? / She works at a hospital.
- Phonics: “Short a” vs. “Short e” vs. “Short i” vs. “Short o”
- Colors: Pink, Brown (The watermelon is pink. / The potatoes are brown.
- Numbers: 17, 18 (seventeen, eighteen)
- Shapes: Round vs. Corners (The circle is round. / The square has four corners.)
There are ten 25-minute lessons in this unit that introduce the target vocabulary and reinforce it through short stories and fun interactive activities. There is also a short homework assignment at the end of each lesson to reinforce the concepts taught.
The unit comes in both .edb format (interactive and with draggable elements; for use on ClassIn) and .pdf format (static and without draggable elements; for any platform).
